Disability-related issues to be explored at debate
Community Partners is inviting people with disabilities and their allies to a debate at the Tecumseh Auditorium (Ryerson Student Centre) at 55 Gould Street in Toronto on Wednesday, May 16th. They’re encouraged to ask each party questions about accessible/subsidized/supportive housing, employment, poverty reduction strategies, Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP), education, and other issues.
Confirmed candidates include the Progressive Conservative Party’s Christine Elliott and the Green Party’s Mike Schreiner, with representatives from the Liberal and New Democratic parties still to be confirmed. Mark Wafer and Michelle McQuigge will moderate.
The scent-free event will include ASL English interpreting, real-time captioning, and attendant services.
